Course Description

Overview:

This course teaches IT Professionals how to manage their Azure subscriptions, secure identities, administer the infrastructure, configure virtual networking, connect Azure and on-premises sites, manage network traffic, implement storage solutions, create and scale virtual machines, implement web apps and containers, back up and share data, and monitor your solution. Responsibilities for this role include implementing, managing, and monitoring identity, governance, storage, compute, and virtual networks in a cloud environment, plus provision, size, monitor, and adjust resources, when needed. An Azure Administrator often serves as part of a larger team dedicated to implementing your organization's cloud infrastructure.

Course Objectives:

This course is suitable for IT personnel who are just beginning to work with Azure. This audience wants to learn about our offerings and get hands-on experience with the product. The Azure Administrator implements, manages, and monitors identity, governance, storage, compute, and virtual networks in a cloud environment. The Azure Administrator will provision, size, monitor, and adjust resources as appropriate.

You will:

  • Define cloud computing and its key advantages

  • Explain public, private, and hybrid cloud models, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud services.

  • Identify core Azure architectural components, Azure core services and products, Azure solutions, management tools.

  • Describe virtual network security connectivity options, authentication and authorization options.

  • Implement and manage users and groups, manage Azure subscriptions and accounts, Policy, including custom policies.

  • Configure public and private IP addressing, network security groups, Azure Firewall, private and public DNS zones, VNet Peering, VPN gateways.

  • Configure network routing including custom routes and service endpoints, Load Balancer, Application Gateway.

  • Manage storage with tools such as Storage Explorer

  • Secure Azure storage.

There are no prerequisites for taking this course. However, the more technical knowledge a student has the more they will understand about the cloud.
